Meet our Pastor

Pastor Young Chung

Pastor Young Chung

Even though I grew up in South Korea, I consider the Twin Cities my home having graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN with a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Sacred Music degree from Luther Seminary in cooperation with St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

I have served Lutheran congregations since 2000 as a Pastor or a Music Director, and I have also worked at hospitals as a chaplain.

I enjoy preaching, crafting special services, and teaching. I love writing drama scripts and pieces telling the story behind the hymn.

I have a strong passion for Faith-Shaping Ministry: Helping people engage in lifelong faith and passing faith stories down to the next generation, making Christ known and making a difference in the world.

I strive for enhancing worship and worshipful life of people. In fact, I led a worship renewal grant project through Calvin Institute of Christian Worship with funds from Lilly Endowment. I launched and presented Fine Arts series — “Do-It-Yourself” Messiah, Community Hymn Festival, Nativity Scene Walk, and a play titled “the Passion of the Christ”. Through the events, a sense of community was built, the good news was spread, and the needy were fed.

I have a lovely family consisting of my husband who is retired from teaching at a seminary, two sons and their wives.

I look forward to working with you as I believe that ministry should be done together rather than alone. Let’s find out what God is up to at Trinity. If God could create the whole world out of nothing, He can surely do some great things through us.

In Ministry together,

Pastor Young Chung
