Holy Week

He has Risen!

Then he said to them, “I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me.” And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want.” Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, “So, could you not stay awake with me one hour?”–Matthew 26:38-40

In the middle of editing bulletins and preparing for all of our worship services this holy week, I have to admit that I’m struggling to “dwell” in what this week means and why it is so important. We’re all excited for Easter: the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord, worship, time with family, etc., so it may be hard for many of us to dwell with Christ as he walks the way to the cross.

In our busyness and excitement, may we remember to dwell with Jesus this week; to stay awake and keep watch as he dines with his disciples, prays in the garden, is betrayed, crucified, and risen.
