Deacons

The main responsibility of the Trinity Lutheran Deacons is to promote and encourage fellowship opportunities among the members, prospective members and visitors of Trinity.

Below is a list of most of the general responsibilities of our group. Of course, we are always open to other congregational events and fellowship items.

  • Maintain and update the congregation’s weekly prayer list
  • Offer “prayers of the day’ during church services
  • Call, visit, encourage, and pray for new members and visitors (telephone calls and cards)
  • Be Stewards for the needs of members and community through contact, services, and prayers.
  • Make contact with members on assigned list (personal visits, send Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Get Well, Congratulations, Encouragement, Sympathy cards.
  • Plan and manage Social Activities within the congregation such as: Potluck Dinners, Fish Fry, Family night, Scholarship Brunches, Christmas Program Snacks
  • Deacons meet 2nd Thursday of each month at the church 5:30 p.m.
  • Deacons serve a 3 year term — may be elected for a second term
  • Officers ( President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) are elected during the February meeting
